About Dr. Mirman
I am a private practice psychiatrist based in Chicago, Illinois, and I see patients via telehealth in both Illinois and California. I provide psychotherapy and medication management using a patient-centered, holistic approach. I treat a wide variety of mental health conditions including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, psychosis, grief, sleep problems, substance use disorders, PTSD, and ADHD.
I completed my undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis, where I graduated with honors. Prior to my medical training, I worked at Epic, where I collaborated with major healthcare organizations around the country to improve their systemic processes and efficiency. It is there where I realized my passion for healthcare; I pursued my pre-medical post-baccalaureate at Bryn Mawr College and worked as a case manager for underserved individuals at high risk for hospitalization or incarceration. I received my medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where I took on several leadership roles and published research on transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for depression. I completed my psychiatry residency at the Semel Institute at UCLA, where I served as chief resident for the program. While in residency, I also completed a concentration in psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as several other therapy training opportunities. I continue to pursue therapy training, as I feel this is an invaluable skill that can always be improved upon. In addition, I worked as a “street psychiatrist” for patients struggling with severe mental illness, homelessness, and substance use problems through a non-profit organization called The People Concern.
I have had the privilege of working with patients with a variety of backgrounds and challenges. I am always curious to learn more about the lives of my patients, and the personal narratives that go along with them. Whether we are working together in therapy, medication management, or combined treatment, it is my hope that through a greater understanding of your narrative, we help you show up in the world as a more emotionally connected and present person.
